Turns out, even EA Sports’ Madden 23 isn’t too crazy about the Green Bay Packers’ wide receiving body.
The Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver depth chart will be much different in 2022 than in previous years. Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown all left this offseason, leaving the team to fill the voids left by free agency signings and NFL draft picks. Once a great strength now appears to be a weakness in Green Bay.
EA Sports aren’t the biggest fans of the Packers’ new receiving corps, based on their latest ratings for the upcoming Madden NFL 23 game. The Packers wide with the highest rating is Sammy Watkins, but received 79 out of 99.

Packers wide receivers get low ratings in EA Sports’ Madden 23
If Packers fans were looking for an excuse not to buy Madden 23, here it is?
Rounding out the top three receivers by rating in the upcoming video game is Randall Cobb, who was rated at 78, and Allen Lazard, who was rated at 77.
Watkins was the team’s top free agent to sign this offseason, signing a one-year deal. The Packers also addressed position in the NFL Draft, highlighted by their second-round trade to select Christian Watson. The rookie is given a 71 rating, which is more than the team’s 2021 third-round pick Amari Rodgers, who had a 69 rating.
Oh, what could have been for the Packers if Adams had stayed on the roster. The Packers traded him to the Las Vegas Raiders for first- and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, where he signed a five-year, $140 million contract extension. Adams’ big offseason continued from Madden’s perspective as he was named to the 99 club, receiving a 99 rating in the video game.
Valdes-Scantling and Brown left in free will. Valdes-Scantling signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, while Brown joined the Chicago Bears on a one-year contract. For the curious, Valdes-Scantling received a 76 rating, while Brown received a 68 rating, by the game’s official website.
The Packers have lost a lot in that position, but they still have quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He’s the one the team relies on to keep the passing offense as strong as ever. But on paper, the wide receivers’ corps is an obvious area of concern.
